Anne Andrews, Esq.

Anne Andrews, Esq. is a partner at Andrews & Thornton in Santa Ana. Ms. Andrews' firm specializes in complex products liability litigation involving pharmaceuticals and dietary supplements. She has been involved in several mass torts including: In Re PPA Litigation (MDL 1407); In Re Diet Drugs (Phentermine/Fenfluramine/Dexfenfluramine) Products Liability Litigation (MDL 1203); In Re Silicone Gel Breast Implant Products Liability Litigation (MDL 926). She served as a member of the California plaintiff's steering committee and science committee in all of these mass torts.

Most recently, Ms. Andrews has been involved in litigation in state and federal courts against the major manufacturers of ephedra supplements. She has been litigating ephedra products liability cases since 1998. The injuries of these clients encompass cardiac arrhythmia, myocardial infarction, hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke, seizure and primary pulmonary hypertension (PPH).

Ms. Andrews has been appointed by Hon. Jed S. Rakoff, Southern District of New York, to be a member of the Plaintiff's Coordinating Counsel in In Re: Ephedra Products Liability Litigation (MDL 1598). Additionally, Ms. Andrews was appointed by Hon. Cornelius Blackshear of the New York Bankruptcy Court to serve on the Official Tort Claimants Committee responsible for the representation of personally injury claimants in the Twin Labs bankruptcy. She was principle negotiator of the successful resolution of 68 personal injury claims. Ms. Andrews also serves as Co-Plaintiffs Liaison Counsel in JCCP 4360, In Re: Metabolife 356 Cases, consolidated before Hon. Ronald Styn in San Diego Superior Court.

Ms. Andrews is a Southern California native who has practiced law in Orange, San Diego and Los Angeles counties for over 20 years. She received her B.A. from Stephens College in Columbia, MO and earned her J.D. from Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, CA. Ms. Andrews is active with the American Trial Lawyers Association and Consumer Attorneys of California. She is currently on the Executive Board of the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association. She previously served on the Board of Orange County Woman Lawyers.
