Able Laboratories Drug Recalls

WARNING: As of May 23, 2005 Able Laboratories has recalled every drug that they manufacture, due to concerns regarding the quality of the medications.

On Thursday, May 19 2005, Able Laboratories temporarily stopped shipping various medications because there was a question raised as to whether or not the drugs had been properly manufactured and tested, in keeping with the company's operating procedures. Only a few days later, on May 23, 2005 all prescription drugs manufactured by Able were recalled nationwide. In addition, the company has halted any further production of medications for the time being.

Able Laboratories is a large manufacturer of drugs, mostly generics, located in Cranbury, New Jersey. Due to the fact that the company produces a multitude of medications which are used to treat numerous ailments and illnesses, millions of people may be affected by the drug recall. If you are currently taking any drugs which are manufactured by Able, it is strongly advised that you speak to your doctor as quickly as possible to determine if you should be placed on a different medication.

Please keep in mind that other manufactures produce some of the same generic prescription drugs as Able; and that only the generic drugs made by Able have been recalled. If you are taking a medication that has been recalled, but do not know the maker of the drug, you should call your pharmacist and ask for information regarding your medication.
